Jason’s Race
A local Conejo Valley family lost their four month old son, Jason Allen Lutz, to SIDS in 2008. In order to do something positive in his memory, his family has partnered with First Candle to host an annual 5K walk/run to raise funds for SIDS research.
Make-a-Wish Foundation®
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation’s mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities.
MANNA of Conejo Valley
MANNA, the Conejo Valley Food Bank, was started in 1971. MANNA helps low-income families in the Conejo Valley who can show proof of residency and proof of income. Volunteers then assist clients as they choose donated items from its shelves, ensuring they receive food they would buy themselves from the store if they were able. With the ever-increasing needs of its clients, MANNA continues to grow and evolve to ensure its neighbors are treated with dignity and empowered to increase the quality of their life.
March of Dimes
The leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
MOTHER-TO-MOTHER FUND®
The Mother-to-Mother Fund® was started back in 1994 after the Northridge Earthquake hit the Northridge/Simi Valley area of California to help those MOMS Club Members suffering from natural disasters. The following year the International MOMS Club expanded it to help MOMS Club members experiencing devastating personal emergencies or disasters. All the money in the Fund comes from local chapters such as ours through fundraising or from personal contributions from members and/or members’ businesses.
Sole Purpose
A local organization that gathers gently worn shoes and provides them to the homeless. Since its inception in 2001, Sole Purpose has created several “Shoe Crews” across the nation and has donated over 15,000 pairs of shoes to homeless individuals.
My Stuff Bags Foundation
The My Stuff Bags Foundation’s mission is to provide powerful advocacy on behalf of abused, abandoned and neglected children across the United States. The Foundation rallies widespread individual and corporate involvement through its unique program, My Stuff Bags, to address the needs of these children and support the organizations caring for them.
Southern California Toys for Tots
Each year the United States Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) conducts the “Toys for Tots” Program, which collects and distributes toys at Christmas time to needy children. Their goal is to enrich the lives of culturally and economically deprived children. USMCR units are responsible for the annual program and enlist the support of the community.
